I like to explain things, so here's a meme I can get behind with pleasure and not just solely out of boredom.

My journal is called _____ because _____.
My subtitle is _____ because _____.
My name is _____ because ______.
My friends page is called _____ because _____.
My username is ____ because ___.


My journal is called "Recommended for libraries serving a trendy population" because I was reading reviews of books on Amazon and they posted a review from the American Library Association and I started to get obssesed with reading only their reviews because at the end they'd often say what kind of libraries the book is recommended for, and I decided I aspired to have my book reviewed by them and recommended to a "trendy population." I mean, what does that even mean?

My subtitle is "writer + dj" because that's what it says on my business cards.

My name is "Have you met me?" because I ask this question a lot, often in the context of someone confessing something to me that is sort of ridiculous because I'm obviously in the same category. For Example, "I dunno, maybe I should feel bad, but I'm just a slut and want to have lots of sex!" and I reply, "um, have you met me?"

My friends pages is "Stop Hitting Reload" because I get bored and obsessive at work and will just hit reload over and over again, waiting for people to update. So I need to remind myself to stop hitting relod and go do something with my life. It doesn't usually work.

My username is "raybear" because I'm called ray and I'm a bear. I've had this username for nearly four years and sometimes wish I had a more anonymous handle, but oh well. Then again, with the tendency to call people by their LJ names, there could be a lot worse appellations.

My name is Q Valentine because one day at my old bakery job at a market I was closing up and this local regular customer came up to me and asked me if he could call me "Q". I wasn't quite sure what he was saying, so I just nodded yes. Then he said " I never date white women, but if I did, she'd look just like you." I was slightly creaped out by his tone, and the fact that we were closing up the market and I was at the bakery alone, but since I saw the guy every night I worked there I just humored him. So I just smiled and asked " why are you calling me Q?" and he said " because you sure are Q-te!!!" (said like the word cute.)I've secretly hoped people would just naturally start calling me Q, but that hasn't happened. Though I really like my real last name Manville, so I like when people call me Manville too.

Valentine is for my favorite holiday.

I now feel completely dull for not naming my Friends page or anything.

i don't know how to name (or re-name) these different things and honestly i don't really know the difference between some of them. i still don't know how to customize my journal.

i answer "have you met me?" usually in response to the question, "do you know what i mean?" or "have you ever felt that way?"

My name is "Elliot C. P." because that's my bird's name. It could have been my kid's name in a couple of years but since it sounded odd (the full name), we decided to get rid of it by giving it to a bird.

My friends page is called "Mee Mates" because I want to exorcise the fear I have with some insane Australian guys and their accent. Plus, I love mee mates.

My journal is called "Live Life in an Extraordinary Way' because a few years back I was throwing runes a lot. I'd pull the rune that states this in it's explanation. After years of dreaming of being a best selling writer or some other very ego-based large success types of dreaming, I got it. Some humility. And the realization that the act of living an ordinary life extraordinarily was worth doing. The big successes are not as important as my day to day life and sucesses. So it reminds me of this and gives me a goal to work towards each time I see it.

My subtitle is High Pitched Screechings of a Dark-Haired Albino Witch because, well, have you met me?

My name is MisKat because my domme name is Mistress Katrina and I am way into cats and like my feline aspects.

My friends page is called People Who teach me About Life because that's what my lj friends do. They share themselves, their thoughts opinions and feelings about their lives and experiences. I learn from this.

My username is hipflickchick because when I first joined lj I was just getting into making movies. I call myself a chick and others a chick because way back when I was a chip-on-the-shoulder feminist I would correct people for saying girl and chick and such. I had to lighten up before I blew an artery. (I can only be so angry and rightious for so long. It gets tiring.). Now I am more laid back about labels and use it myself to stick my nose up at labels. Plus I am a slangophile. (new word: lover of slang.) It's tongue in cheek.

catching up on old entries

my journal is called "this is how i work" for two reasons. one, because i most often write journal entries while at the job where i make money, and two because in that sense of how my mind 'works.'

i don't think i have a subtitle. or do i?

i don't know the difference between 'name' and 'username' and this confusion caused me to have the names i have. if i could have figured it out, my name and username would have been 'weishenme' which is the chinese word for 'why?' when i lived in china, i used that word more than almost anything else. i also love the way it sounds.

so then i got 'louche' because i'd just been saying that word that day for some reason. i love how it sounds and how it makes your lips purse (and if you've seen pictures of me, i'm often pursing my lips). plus, the meaning is divine.

that's what i know.
