Everything's the same but my name, and I have everything I wanted for a change.

I just e-mailed Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi to congratulate her on being honest and calling President Bush "incompetent". Such a minor criticism compared to the truth, but it's amazing what an uproar it's causing. At least it happened on a Friday so it's been somewhat buried in weekend news which means hopefully there will be no retraction or apology. Basically I e-mailed her to say no matter what, please don't back down.

I took this workshop yesterday and learned about printmaking. I absolutely loved it. I mean, I always love seing friends in a different setting, and seeing someone teach and talk about art to kids in a way that they don't when we're having dinner. But I also loved the hands on experience of making the print and I'm hoping they will teach me more, assuming that they're still talking to me after today. More on that....never.

My weekend was fairly quiet and lowkey. After a crazed Saturday morning that involved taking lots of heavy objects down to the basement for storage, as well as disposing of nearly every single cardboard box from our move (that had been stacked onto our back porch, nearly blocking the door), I got tired of sweating and took a nap. Then I had a chill visit with [livejournal.com profile] gloeden in the afternoon that led into me crashing out on the couch for the rest of the evening in front of the windows, watching the thunderstorms come and go while also watching a million DVDs, including episodes of "The Office" & The Dave Chappelle Show, the NOVA documentary "The Elegant Universe", and the movie Shattered Glass. All of which I enjoyed for different reasons. On Sunday I slept, took a long walk with the dog, made myself a leisurely breakfast. Then I went to the aforementioned workshop. After the workshop we went out to dinner downtown and walked over to the lake.

That pretty much brings us current, at least on the topics for public consumption. [livejournal.com profile] dommeyourass comes home today which I'm excited about because I've missed her, even though I'll only get to see her for five minutes before she goes to dress rehearsal. So it goes.

print making is tons of fun. i sort of suck but i it's one of the few things i suck at but still enjoy. where did you take a workshop?

at the SMART museum down at univ. of chicago. only because i knew the instrutor giving it. they also teach in schools through urban gateways. maybe i can convince her to give a workshop to me and my friends. also, i might go crazy like i often do when i discover a hobby and buy some materials and we can get together and discuss magazine articles and make prints at my house next week.
