Just for the record, it's been 5 weeks and 1 day since I've seen her. And it will probably be 5 weeks and 1 day until she returns to Chicago. Which means I'm officially halfway there.

Halfway??? Is that it??? Ah well.

In other news, my boss is returning in less than 3 weeks (everything is about countdowns suddenly), and I have several projects to complete by then. Nothing major or too stressful. In fact, I sort of like having a deadline -- I'm more likely to complete a project.

I called Melanie and we confirmed our meeting for tomorrow. She had fun at the Melissa Ferrick concert and nothing happened, but she said that having the freedom to do whatever she wanted helped her have a better time. Note to self: Talk about how I like her having her freedom, and I like having my freedom too. Talk about reassuring our happiness for each other's freedom and how that relates to validating each other and our relatioship. Maybe I should make a list of things to talk about this weekend.....or maybe I'll save that for this afternoon when I need a break at work....

Not to be all up in yo biz-niss, but, I uh, got a suggestion fer da list:

"I am invested in your happiness and in your love life."

(now, I didn't think of this myself, it comes for The Ethical Slut book)
But, basically, it's my mantra for those I love. If you tell yourself and your partner that you are committed and invested in hir/her/his life, you'll feel better.

I dunno if this is too far for you, but sometimes, I meet someone who is really great and I think, "hey, my girlfriend would like that person" or if my girlfriend says she thinks someone is cute or she's into someone, I like to take the time to see if that person might like her too. I like to help because then, I get all excited with her about her relationships. Call me creepy (cause everyone does) but, I think that it's more intimate when I'm invested in my partner's love life. Her happiness becomes my happiness and that's so uplifting, you know?
(go ahead and call me creepy)

Puttin the J in creepy,
