Excuse me, but I have to get all Lifetime Original Movie for a moment:

Christmas has been cancelled.

Due to crazy snow storms, we're not driving east. The drama sort of started with one of DYA's sisters e-mailing us yesterday to say she wasn't coming but I'm not really qualified to talk about since it's my in-law family and I don't know the details. But then the weather kept the two of us from going too. So we made a trip to stores, and now I'm making a ham and sweet potatoes to eat for the next couple days. We rented six movies, plus I just bought the extended version of Return of the King. And some trashy magazines to read. And a big bag of "Puppy Chow" (this dessert I made of chex mix, chocolate, peanut butter and powdered sugar). And a bag of cut-up fresh pineapple that just got delivered to me in the living room. And a sexy woman to snuggle on the couch and under the covers.

I'm really jonesing for a viewing of the movie Scrooged, but other than that, the setup for our 'cancelled xmas' is pretty perfect.

I'm sorry it worked out that way but happy you two have each other to celebrate with.
Christmas is a trip, no?

Awww baby! I'm sorry to hear that. Ewww that sounded so fucking Bob Barker but really I'm so sorry.

I'm confused. People here are consoling you, but what you've described sounds absolutely ideal to me. I want your Christmas instead of mine.

I know, that's what I was thinking. I'm having a very similiar Xmas with my pookie and knowing that we'll be the only people we see for the next couple of days is like so hot.

Can I be played by Valerie Bertinelli?

You guys are welcome to come to our house tomorrow (leave the ham at home) for xmas dinner. Actually, it's at 2, so it's like lunner or dinch. We might finally have enough people for Cranium. And we'll probably go see The Life Aquatic. You're both welcome to join in at any time.

Oh, lucky you! And I'm not ironic.

Have fun!

I got up to read the AP reports about a foot and a half of snow in the Midwest and traffic jams throughout, so I'm happy to hear that you guys are safe and warm home. Eat some Matt's Cookies for me.

Hey, SM-M and I are both in town, too. I was planning to go over to her new place (which is [livejournal.com profile] loosethread's old place) for a big Christmas breakfast/brunch.

But the point is, I'm free most of the weekend, and would love to see you and/or both of you at any point...
