I slept 11 hours. I never sleep that long. Also amazing, is that the alarm went off, Lowenstein climbed out of bed to turn it off, then crawled back under the covers onto my side (our recent morning snooze routine), and I didn't notice. I just woke up and thought 'how did I get on her side of the bed?' Before waking up I was dreaming about being in an Antioch class and I was sitting at the piano because I was the only one who knew how to read music at all, and we were singing made up songs based on our future dreams for ourselves. Strange to explain, but it was weird to wake up singing a song I'd never heard before and obviously my brain created even though it was a different character singing the tune.

I said last night I was crabby and tired. But I didn't realize I was 11-hours-of-sleeping tired. I had a wonderful indulgent afternoon, but then I came home to a frustrating e-mail from someone who know how to get under my skin and bring on the wave of complicated feelings, and it was all heightened because of being tired and having a deficit of alone time over the past few days, weeks, months. But now after lots of sleep, it seems fine.

I hung out with the dashing [livejournal.com profile] gloeden yesterday and we went to an afternoon double-feature of Closer and Kinsey. I had really wanted to see the latter, but was intrigued about the former. We watched them in that order, in part because I expected to like Kinsey better and wanted to leave on a high note. But I ended up kind of loving Closer. A lot. Both movies were worth seeing and it was a great double-feature suggestion.

Also, my student loan check came so now I'm doing lots of exciting things like paying off credit cards and making appointments to get new glasses and renewing prescriptions. I have some leftover gift money from the parents which I might use to buy a digital camera. Money will also go for signing up for the introductory mediation course at temple (part of the requirement for membership) as well as some intro yoga classes. And drinking cosmos at the Funky Buddha Lounge this past Tuesday night. Damn, I slurped back three in about two hours and felt very toasty. The cosmo money was more of a one-time thing and not a line-item of my budget. This money came just in time to finance all our home improvement projects as well as basic living expenses for the next few months. And make some donations to relief projects in south Asia.

Yesterday we were talking about the 'money can't buy happiness' aphorism. And yeah, it's true. But sometimes having money can make it easier to find it.

I really liked Closer, but not many people seem to. I was completely wrapped up in it! I still want to see Kinsey.

Omg. With students funds, I buy name brand toilet paper and all the CDs I'm too cheap to buy otherwise.

i also indulge in purses that are ridiculously ornamental.

I was just talking about you with my advisor!!!
