Not only am I an egomaniac about karaoke, apparently I'm also one about people writing about me at karaoke, so click there to read Liza's post and see some video footage of the night.
The super tall guy in the short clip made me sing Donna Summer's MacArthur Park with him. I can't say no when hot guys ask me to participate, no matter how painful the activity might be. Ahem. Luckily it wasn't the 13 minute version of the song. I did two other duets: "Up Where We Belong" with Miss Rook and "Don't Fall In Love With a Dreamer" with Liza. My solo songs were Destiny's Child "Jumpin Jumpin", Dionne Warwick's "Heartbreaker", George Michael's "Too Funky" (don't ever do this song at karaoke, it's weak and boring), and my usual Dr. Dre and Eminem "Forget About Dre".
I saw
drinkasyoupour perform for the first time ever -- she did a great version of "I Think I Love You". And
nineinchlovely is totally addicted to the stage. I think my favorite performance was "Private Dancer".
Hidden Cove is usually overwhelming on Saturday night, super crowded with annoying straight white people. But last night was great mix of everything and not too busy. I'm completely sure it's because it was the night before Easter.
I need a karaoke icon.

Date: 2005-03-28 04:43 am (UTC)It's totally a "solo" for me. I even do it different voices. Except for when it's near the end and I'm all winded.
I said to

Date: 2005-03-28 05:39 am (UTC)I had a feeling you were going to say that. Maybe The Game's "How We Do". I'll play 50. Oh, or Get Right! We're totally doing Get Right.
>I said to vfc in the car last night that I think my all time favorite karaoke performance was our verison of "Crazy in Love".
Yeah? I think you nailed it, but I just remember being totally out of breath doing Jigga's part.
For me, it's a tie between "On My Own" and, of course, "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me".
