Why am I only one of twelve Americans who (still) loves 2-step garage dance music? I'm not even one of those brit-ophile type people.

I'm on sabbatical. Except maybe it doesn't really seem this way on the outside, but on the inside it feels true.

And actually, I think what REALLY happened is I stopped being on sabbatical (i.e. depressed/lazy/paralyzed) and now I'm actually enamored with what I was supposed to be doing all along: writing, reading, grad school.

According to my grad school contract, I have approximately 75 more pages of fiction to write and 6 books to read in the next.....5 weeks. And actually, I have a plan to make it happen, like Mariah Carey. And I think I might even get it done, or at least get very close to the goal.

Why? 'Cause I'm fucking writer. Who knew?

what?! you can't REALLY take me up on my offer to fly in! that's too much pressure. i'll just lots of pictures. and if it goes well, maybe i'll do it in l.a. in june.
