raybearWhy am I only one of twelve Americans who (still) loves 2-step garage dance music? I'm not even one of those brit-ophile type people.
I'm on sabbatical. Except maybe it doesn't really seem this way on the outside, but on the inside it feels true.
And actually, I think what REALLY happened is I stopped being on sabbatical (i.e. depressed/lazy/paralyzed) and now I'm actually enamored with what I was supposed to be doing all along: writing, reading, grad school.
According to my grad school contract, I have approximately 75 more pages of fiction to write and 6 books to read in the next.....5 weeks. And actually, I have a plan to make it happen, like Mariah Carey. And I think I might even get it done, or at least get very close to the goal.
Why? 'Cause I'm fucking writer. Who knew?
Oh, and this is a teaser: mark your calenders for Saturday May 14th at Spin. Don't ask why, just do it. Non-Chicagoans, book your plane tickets now.
