I was sitting here reading papers on feminist critiques of language then remembered I forgot to put any cocoa butter on my scars so I went to the bathroom to do it and when I pulled the cap off while simultaneously pushing up the stick (it's like a miniature push-pop, for people who aren't familiar with cocoa butter in tube form), it oozed out and glopped onto the sink. It's so hot, that my solid stick of cocoa butter melted like margarine left on the counter.
It was pretty disgusting.
And now I'm out $0.99 and have to buy a new stick. And keep it in the fridge, I guess.

Date: 2005-07-26 02:04 pm (UTC)my partner DYA had surgery when she was a teenager and used cocoa butter on the scars on the front of her body but not on her back (cause she couldn't reach/see them easily) and there does seem to be a difference. i figure it probably works just as well as the expensive anti-scarring gels, and this is cheaper. i also have a roll of vitamin E oil and some homeopathic stuff, but it's smelly. i've considered conducting tests, cause i'm nerdy that way, but on the other hand, i don't want to have prominent scars on only ONE side of my body, if for some reason one of them is a miracle cure.
