It is. It's creepy and beautiful and haunting and whoa, look, there's actual tumbleweeds... everywhere! (I had thought they only existed in movies). W & I had our share of borderline-creepy experiences in WY but I really want to go back and see more of it, to be honest.
Yeah, we had that happen a few times - Including ppl being really wierd to Wyatt. Definitely creepy in a way that NE, IA, etc were not. In general, WY was very surreal to me. Have you seen "Red Rock West"?
It is distinctly creepy, and yet, being born right next to it, I see the creepiness as oddly comforting, as a kind of this-is-what-it-is essence that can't be argued with. So yeah. Drive through it and get out.
