Guys like me, we don't know how it feels
Sep. 14th, 2005 11:38 amI've landed in San Fran. I probably should have posted this two days ago when it happened, so no one thought I was stranded still in Wyoming. I'm in a coffee shop in the Castro with the intent to get writing done, but instead I'm listening to 3 days of Rachel Maddow podcasts and checking e-mail and drinking a great latte and just enjoying some alone time. Well, alone in public.
Yesterday I bought a new pair jeans, my first in nearly 3 years. I buy 99% of my clothes at thrift stores, but I managed to convince myself I deserved a $20 pair of jeans that no one else has worn before, especially since it's cold as hell in SF and I only brought one pair of thin holey pants and one pair of shorts. Of course my feet and ankles are still cold because I only bought short socks and sneakers that are mostly mesh. In my effort to be a lean mean packing machine that took up little room in the rental car, I didn't quite adequately plan.
I have more to write but I should save those keystrokes for my novel chapters I need to finish by this weekend. And also resist the temptation to keep listening/watching the Roberts confirmation hearings.
