from recent Newsweek article on gay scouts

"America turned to scouting, a new quasi-military British program, in 1910, during a period of widespread concern that middle-class schoolboys were losing their 'manly character'".

I probably should be nauseated, but instead I can't stop laughing. Particularly since all the boy scouts I knew growing were persistently getting their ass kicked. Hmm. Things sure do change quickly when it comes to "manly" characteristics.
