Why raybear has "Some Guys Have All the Luck" stuck in his brain, by trooper6
Across town, a mysteriously cloaked figure lights candles in an empty warehouse. Ancient smells of sacrificial oils mix with the smell of dust and mildew. The figure shuffles, its fingers twitching as it approaches the makeshift altar. As it pulls out an orange grease pencil, it begins to chant. The chanting is low, but like Tuvan throat singers, the higer overtones sing. The effect is mysterious and disorienting. The figue looks and the photo of raybear that is in the honored position at the altar and begins to unwind a reel to reel tape. Its fingers dance quickly as the figure writes arcane symbols with the grease pencil on the shiny side of the brown tape.
It takes 76 minutes to complete the first phase of the ritual. Those long minutes a filled with the sounds of the maddening chanting and the scribble of grease pencil. Finally the writing is complete and the spool of tape is rewound. The figure places the tape onto the reel to reel and begins hits the play button.
Sounds of Rod Stewart's "Some Guys Have All the Luck" emerge ominously from the playback speakers as the figure's chanting becomes louder...soon the incomprehensible language transforms in to one word the figure intones over and over....
