I know what you're thinking -- Raybear, I don't read all this news maniacally like you do, so what does this really mean?
It means that the very slow cog-driven machine known as our government is actually finally moving a tiny bit in a positive direction. Or at least the Democratic Senators are trying to slow it down a tiny bit, which is much better than they've been doing, which is lying down in front of it.
It means the Democratic Senators actually used the well-established rules that were put in place to give every Senator at least some power, even if they are in the minority, to get something done. It means that yeah, they pulled a little stunt, a trump card, but it was to counter Bush's trump card of announcing Scalito to detract from the indictment/war cover-up stuff. Turnabout is fairplay.
You can now go back to planning your lunch. I'm going to take a nap. All that Katamari-ing has worn me out.
