I'm obsessed with this bald spot on my head, near my right ear. It was discovered on Thanksgiving day, while driving down to southern Indiana. I thought I'd just cut one section shorter, and it wasn't really noticed until a few days later as my hair got a bit longer and darker. But I shaved my head today and the bald spot is still there and the more I finger it, the more it feels bald, not just a patch of shorter hair. And I think, what if I have some strange disease that's making my hair fall out in chunks except I don't have enough hair to notice things like this? And I didn't get blood drawn when I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago because I had no insurance and he didn't want to do it for a few bucks when he could wait a few months and charge a big company more.

Or maybe I just hit my head at some point and now it's scarred.

Or maybe my clipper are broken near the edge and I just happened to catch the same place both times because I shave my head the same way.

None of the explanations are very exciting....but I just keep fingering that bald spot, as I sit here and watch mediocre episodes of ALIAS and think about my novel.
