She's the perfect host.

[livejournal.com profile] vfc caused me to squeal this morning when she sent me this link. There are many reasons I am happy to have Liza in my life, and one of them is that when there's some bizarre pop culture isht in my brain from childhood that no one else remembers and I start to think I made it up, she will remember it too. And then she will locate artifacts and send them to you.

Madame's Place made me gay.

[Note: Simpsons fans who are unaware of whom Waylon Smithers is referencing should especially watch. It's good to be aware of primary source material.]

OMG!!!!!

today my journal is all about bringing the people together -- whether its neurotic trannies or devotees of oversexed elderly catty puppets.

Of course. Wayland & Madame were fixtures on Hollywood Squares too! And I know that there were some Carson appearances, but did they guest host the Tonight Show once?

those were my favorite episodes of holywood squares! even as a child, they made me feel a little awkward and funny, before i understood the concept of "train wrecks".

Did you submit this to the year of queer/the days of gays? You should do your part for Art. It's no jerking off to Torville and Dean, but still.

Oh isht - I forgot that existed.

Wait for it... here.

My grandmother and I used to watch that show together all the time. In retrospect it is kind of weird and creepy, but I loved it then.
