The other evening while sitting on the couch and noticing the rapidly cooling breeze coming in through the window, I remembered that back in June while in Bloomington I found a beautiful leather jacket for ten bucks at a thrift store and very soon I will be able to wear it out in the world.

I also think I'm going to start collecting belt buckles. This fits with my tendency towards an entire wardrobe of jeans, undershirt, belt and boots. Maybe a hat. I just bought two belts online (because I needed a new black one and there was a 2-for-1 special) and it was hard not to buy five different buckles that I loved to go with them. I didn't buy any, I had such restraint. My favorite was the Cadillac insignia from an ashtray panel and the buckle opens up to be a cigarette case. Also on the top of the list was buckle that said "Praise the Lord." I don't know, I just liked it. Not even ironically, I think.

Didn't you get one of those in Long Beach? LBC!

Yes! I bought a buckle there that's an old state seal of California and says "Sun City". As in: I (I), I (I), I (I) ain't gonna play Sun Citaaaaayyyyyy.

Rock on! Watching Little Stevie and Nona Hendrix sing together was a serious highlight of my childhood.

I collect belt buckles. Especially ones having to do with the railroad or country music.

And one of my best buddies wears a Praise The Lord belt buckle (unironically, though it does fit with her hipster-ironic fashion) all the time. Great choice.

Your wardrobe suits you. And as my Alabama-native friend JH said about belt buckles - "You get scratches on 'em when you slow dance." From the other person's belt buckle rubbing on yours. Awesome, right?

They arrived in the mail.....and were very disappointing. I didn't realize until after I ordered them that they were "man made materials" i.e. fake leather (which is great if your vegan, but I'm not). And they run very small. This is what I get from ordering an unknown item from an unfamiliar store! I think I'll try Leatherup.com where I got my leather chaps or Boot City where I got my boots.
