I don't know, I just don't feel like I have a lot to say, but I just need to get started and then I'll keep going, I'm sure.

Last night for film group, we watched All That Jazz, which was simply.....amazing. [livejournal.com profile] vfc had mentioned it back when we watched Liza with a 'Z', but I'd forgotten about it. Our rotation for film group this session is differnt -- normally we have one theme that everyone picks from. This time, every month we draw two pieces of paper from a hat, one decade and one genre. Steve drew 70s musical and this was his pick. Next month will be a 40s cartoon. I might have to start missing some film groups because of my job, but they're going to try and switch to Sunday nights which I find sort of touching. I'm easily moved though, hence me constantly crying during every melodramatic episode of Grey's Anatomy we've been watching.

I'm reading poems by Billy Collins. I'm trying to psyche myself up to write a new chapter for my workshop. I'm contemplating starting a second workshop with two other writers in my life who've expressed interest. I'm nervous about starting this new job, even though every person I've told has congratulated me and thinks it's a perfect position for where I'm at now. I know this rationally too. But still. I'm starting to think about what I need to have decorating my desk to help make it tolerable. Definitely plants.

Yeah, that's about it for now.

I've been watching clumps of episodes from season two to catch up, and by the end of it i'm a soggy mess. I'm glad to know I'm not alone!

I love that film. Of course, then I think. How messed up is Bob Fosse. Then I think...what a jerk, he made Anne Reinking audition over and over again to basically play herself. Then I think...but how messed up is it that Gwen, Anne and his daughter all watched this movie.

He doesn't like his audience...but he likes himself less.

Yeah, there have been lots of biopics but few movies are autobiopics -- at least so blatantly and intentionally. And it's not like he let himself off the hook in doing so.

I was 1/3 of the way into it when I realized, omg, Bob Fosse was STRAIGHT? I had no idea.

Did you see that "Xanadu" played at the Music Box? I was sad to have missed it.
