raybearI've spent lots of time this morning looking online at pictures of mountain cabins, beachhouses, and fancy urban hotels, researching three potential events -- an anniversary weekend, a writer's retreat with Cali people, and my 30th birthday. If I had a birthday party near Pigeon Forge, would you come? I've reached no conclusions, other than that I love looking at pictures of places I would potentially stay in and fantasizing about all the things that would happen while there.
It's snowing which makes it a quieter Sunday than usual and I ate a lunch that was supposed to be warm and cozy and nourishing, but really it just tasted like the gruel I imagined as a child when I read stories taking place in castle prisons or about industrial age europe. I suppose there is excitement going on in other parts of the city, given that today is a big sports game day for Chicago, but it has not permeated this corner of my world.
