Feb. 2nd, 2007 04:31 pmEarlier this week I was in a store having a sale on calenders and decided to purchase a page-a-day calender for myself even though I don't think I've ever kept up with those things ever. Except for one year when it was a quote a day/trivia calendar -- it gave the quote and three possible authors, with the answer on the back. That managed to maintain my interest and commitment. This time, I got a science trivia calendar and I brought it to work, where I will probably be more likely to notice it. Yesterday's entry was about lima beans. And that raw lima beans have high concentrations of cyanide that can sicken (and in rare cases kill) people who consume them. But when you cook them, the cyanide "floats away on clouds of steam". I'm trying to construct a CSI epsiode involving death by cyanide steam inhalation.
