I had a little too much fun answering Liza's, so I should put this in my own journal too. It's also an appropriate meme, given that lately I've been paying more attention to the strange keyword phrases that IMDB uses for movies.

-Go to IMDb.com and look up 10 TV shows you like(d).
-Post three official IMDb "Plot Keywords" for these 10 picks.
-Have your friends guess the show names (no cheating!)

1. Deceased Father, Flashback Sequence, Phone Sex

2. End Of The World Scenario, Creator Creation Relationship, Robot As Menace

3. Post It, Crushed To Death, Black Comedy

4. Neo Noir, Demon, Conflicted Hero

5. Critically Acclaimed, Gay Slur, Racial Slur

6. Mystery Woman, New York City, Character Name In Title [

7. Hero Gone Bad, Boxer Rebellion, Chosen One

8. Horror, Non Fiction, Character Name In Title

9. Science, Murder, Bullet

10. Robot As Pathos, Famous Opening Theme, Tea

Here are the answers and who got them right first:

1. Sisters [[livejournal.com profile] vfc]
2. Battlestar Galactica [[livejournal.com profile] unscrambled]
3. Dead Like Me [[livejournal.com profile] vfc]
4. Angel [[livejournal.com profile] anjibobanji]
5. The Wire [[livejournal.com profile] fish]
6. Ugly Betty [[livejournal.com profile] vfc]
7. Buffy [[livejournal.com profile] anjibobanji]
8. Oprah [[livejournal.com profile] vfc]
9. CSI [[livejournal.com profile] unscrambled]
10. Star Trek the Next Generation [[livejournal.com profile] vfc]

I think my favorite phrases are "Robot as Menace" and "Robot as Pathos".

Damn...I'll guess number one is Six Feet Under, but I don't even have a good guess on the others.

No, but that would fit! Number 1 is actually an old show that I loved back in high school. Though most of the shows are contemporary favorites.

I personally think Number 8 is the hardest of them all.

Spot on with 2 and 9. You're the second person to guess Six Feet under for the first one, which totally fits, but it's not the one I picked.

Oh, and:

6. Ugly Betty

Number 8 is driving me crazy with its vagueness!

I know! There are only 4 "plot keywords" total for it, and the one I omitted would totally give it away.

It was the Non Fiction part mixed with the other two keywords that had been driving me crazy. At first I though maybe is was something like Animal Cops, but there are no character names in that. But knowing you and what truly are your favorite shows, I'm going to have to say it's Oprah, although it's unclear how Horror is involved unless the person responsible for that keyword was just being snarky. Who comes up with the keywords anyhow? Can anyone submit them?

Correct, it's Oprah. I have no idea, but I thought the same thing when I saw Horror. Though I suppose she often is 'horrified' by her guests. And we specifically are frequently horrified as viewers.

The only other keyword is "Talk Show".
