I went to Homo Depot and bought TONS of plants. I'm super excited. Also, the smell of a tomato plant is possibly one of my absolute favorite scents. Maybe I can get Demeter to bottle that for me.

Aaliyah, why did you have to die and leave us alone here without any good summer jams? Today in the car I heard an old Jay-Z song and thought, damn, maybe he needs to come out with a new album....oh. Kingdom Come, what?

Hey, guess who got a 160GB external hard drive yesterday? And who is now furiously downloading songs again? I need some help, I'm overwhelmed. Recommend a song/artist (or two or three). Bonus points for songs you want to hear on the dancefloor right now. (New is good, but not necessary.) More bonus points for summer themed songs.

CP refuses to listen to the radio in the car anymore. I miss B96. And Aaliyah.

I think Demeter does have a tomato fragrance that smells like the plants. Merz!

You should check out Ozomatli’s latest album “Don’t Mess With the Dragon”. Some really great cuts: Can’t Stop, Creo, La Temperatura, Here We Go. I realize that’s like half an album, but it’s just really good. Also, they’re in town tonight.

ooh, yes, me too. thanks for the reminder. i also like Let It Go, the other keyshia cole song that uses "juicy fruit". it made me mad at first, but there's no denying the power of Mtume.

No summer jams? What, is "Umbrella" too simple for you or something? And are you sick of "Lip-Gloss" already?

How much did that drive set you back? I desperately need one of those.

I second the vote for CSS. Any other suggestions are lost on me right now because I'm in a cover haze. I feel a "new music" hunt coming on for me any second, so I'll keep you posted if I find anything worthwhile.

Actually, I like the other Rihanna song "shut up and drive better". Though Lil Mama is on the Umbrella remix, so maybe I'll do that back to back with Lip Gloss. But I'm greedy, I need more! Don't make me play Will Smith's Summertime.

I paid $150 for my hard drive at MicroCenter (it's Crossfire External Hard Drive by SmartDisk). There might be better cheaper options for PCs, even. I went with one that was specifically well-reviewed for Macs.

when i was little, before we moved to atlanta, my mom had a garden of tomatos and bell peppers in the yard. as did my grandmother. and even in georgia, in the summer, we never bought tomatos at the store, we bought them from the backs of trucks in parking lots.

i'm currently trying to grow four tomato plants myself -- two roma, one "big boy" hybrid, and one cherry tomato. i'm terribly pleased by them!

i'm totally playing a rollerskating jam called saturdays, after your recent mention of it in a post.

It's a good thing that the first dj to play that is my crush, or that isht could have gotten awkward.

hey...how do you make the Ipod play the "least played" list? Been meaning to ask you, because my random ain't so random anymore.

you make a smart playlist in itunes and one of the choices is "play count" which you can make zero (what i title "unplayed") or you can make zero or one, or zero or one or two, etc. etc.

I don't have a "Least Played," but I do have an "Unplayed." All you need to do is make a smart playlist with the rule being that the play count is 0.

I bought a candle from someone at work (goldcanyoncandles.com, I think) and one of the notes is tomato plant. It smells like summer and it is my most favorite smell.

um, this might be too new for FKA... but what about some Steed Lord??

for me the sound is a newer version of the "new rave" scene that CSS is a part.

soooo good!

for additional tomato-sniffing pleasure, companion plant with basil. Dreamy.

The little red darlings get sick in my garden, but my growing conditions are ideal for extra peppery rocket and sharp coriander. Chopped and combined with mint and lime juice, they're my favourite topping for toast.

Completely unsummery, but it's an overcast winter's day here, try Clare Bowditch and the Feeding Set. Dense, textured, strangely uplifting songs about grief.
