I think one of the most hopeful lines in all of pop music is "anybody could be that guy" from ABBA's Dancing Queen.

Today has been a heavy day, at the end of a heavy week, and I spent most all the energy these past days I could spare on propping myself and getting work done. I took on a freelance job that was about twice as much as I'd thought it be, which will be nice when the check comes, but given that I was also busy at my evening job every night this week, it made for a tedious time. Then again, maybe its just as well to have a sad week during periods like this, I mean, why waste a good mood on proofreading and data entry?

But its Friday, and all I have to do is sit in this chair for 2 1/2 hours, then I get to go meet up with people I adore, get a little fcked up, eat some fried food, and sing some karaoke. And I'm wearing my gay Racine t-shirt and linen scarf while doing it.

To reward myself for making it to Friday, I finally bought myself a hard copy of Out Magazine. I went to Books-A-Million, because it is two blocks from my office, and I've always had this vague feeling when going past (or through, though I rarely shop there) that it's some sort of conservative/right-wing owned business, though I have never seen anything to verify that claim. (Then again, I never look very hard, since once I get to the next block, I've usually forgotten the store even existed.) But today I thought maybe I was right, because I couldn't find any gay magazines on their shelf. I finally noticed that Bitch was in the very very back of the Women's Fashion section, so I went over to the Men's Fashion section, and sure enough, stuffed back there, were some gay titles. I grabbed one copy of Tilda and put the two remaining copies promininently on the front row, next to Ryan Seacrest (who Details managed to make him look kinda straight -- how did that happen?)

If you have had similar trouble finding a hard copy, or if you're broke, or lazy, or whatever, you have read my sidebar online now! Go here. (And those are not my abs. I would never wax.)

Hmm, curious. I'm on macs at home and have no problem -- I'm using Firefox. You could try just going to www.out.com and looking for my piece -- its entitled "..But There's No Dick?" and there's a picture of a bulge in a pair of jeans. ;)

I hope you are well also. I miss your presence in my weekly readings, though I know you are out there in ether still!

What's strange is I tried the link again just now from my iMac running Tiger and got there without a problem. Now I'm wondering about lots of buggy issues there might have been with the new MacBook.

In any case I loved your sidebar piece, it made me smile and I am always around though I update wunderkammen.com far to infrequently.
