Things I've done or thought since 5 pm yesterday:
  • 18:43 Hypothesis: The Deer Hunter would have sustained itself as relevant film classic if it excised the entire middle section in Vietnam. #
  • 07:31 I'm ready for the bacteria to stop crowding the lymph nodes in my throat. #
  • 12:00 "Check The Rhime" just came up on the shuffle and the good day becomes even better. #
  • 15:15 I'm making ratatouille. Sometimes eggplant frightens me. Like, when I learned eating it raw was a poison, I wasn't surprised. #

The Deer Hunter is ALREADY a film classic. It might be my favorite wars of Southeast Asia movie.

I know its *a* film classic, but I meant one more talked about in sustained ways. Have you watched it recently?

I haven't seen it in a couple of years, but I have been riveted by the performances every time. I think it is underrated in the film critic world, personally. Maybe it is the middle bit. I'd be totally into screening it after we watch "southland tales."

I agree with your analysis of The Deer Hunter.
