raybearGuess what came in the mail today???? My security deposit!! Yay!!!
I just went to the bank, deposited the check, as well as changed my address and ordered new checks while there. Now I know what I'm doing tonight -- writing checks to all my bills!
here's what I have planned so far:
Discover = $400 (I will finally not be overlimit! most expensive move....ever.)
Visa = $100
Mastercard = $100
ComEd = approx. $65 (last bill of the summer, plus, most recent bill at new place)
Ameritech = approx. $50 (from last place)
Sprint = $3 (bastards!)
old medical bill = $50 (out of $110 owed)
new medical bill = $50 (out of $160 owed? can't remember)
USAA insurance premium = $45
so far that totals out at $863. about a hundred dollars less than what I just deposited. So I should stop there, and keep the cushion so that no checks will bounce (rent and grocery store).
So the bad news is, I'm still broke (as far as having little usable money). But the good news is, I will not owe any money! At least in the immediate sense. I mean, yes, I still have thousands of dollars of credit card debt, but I won't owe them any money THIS month. The other good news is that my paycheck on the 15th is currently unallocated!! I might actually take a hundred dollars and {gasp!} start a savings account. The other good news -- I can go clothes shopping! I'm very excited that I'll be able to throw down 20 bucks for a snazzy suit at the thrift store. Hell, maybe I'll buy two. Though I guess I'll stay have to pay for dry cleaning....
But I digress.
The other loverly thing about my security deposit is that NOTHING was taken out, they correctly added my interest, and there was a nice little post-it note attached that said "Ray, Good luck in your new home." Awww.
I also decided to celebrate by going to Mrs. Field's and get a peanut butter dream bar. I only ate half, and I feel like I'm going to vomit. Yummm. It's pretty damn rich. I'll save the rest for the afternoon slump at 4 pm.
