raybear: (chik-fil-a)
Nearly a month ago, I went on a mini-shopping spree at Bike Nashbar and got, among other things, a rack for the back my bike. I also opted for buying a pannier in lieu of stealing the milk crate. When my package came, I was very excited, but quickly got overwhelmed by the bike rack installation and avoided it for....nearly a month. But this morning, for some reason, at 7 am, wearing smelly undershirt and boxers that I pulled out of the hamper to take the dog out, without having eaten any breakfast, I decided, I'm going to install it right now. And I did! Don't get me wrong, I had a moment of near tears. I had several moments of thinking "I should call [livejournal.com profile] broqued for a consult." I also had a moment of "fck it! I should HAND IT OVER to [livejournal.com profile] broqued along with an autographed photo of Lynda Carter as bribery". But I pushed through and its funny how something can go from 'everything is wrong' to 'everything came together' in an instant. Its possible (probable) I didn't quite do it correctly. But it seems to be sturdy! And my new hammock fits inside one side of the pannier!

Of course, its cloudy and starting to rain, so I won't be able to take it out for a full test run. But I'm not even that disappointed, I'm so thrilled that its done. Now let's see if I can tackle other things I've been neglecting for a month. Like putting away the stacks of clean laundry so that I can actually see and sit on my couch.
