Pardon me. How the fck you gonna start with me?

Nothing like a little Mashed Out Posse to get the blood flowing on a Monday morning. I was a little tired when I work up, which confused me since I was asleep before midnight, but then I remembered that I only slept about 5-6 hours on Saturday night. Hmm.

Weekend was good. On Friday evening Melanie called to make I hadn't got injured in the train collision. My answer was "what train collision?" Apparantly there was a huge accident with 140 hurt, but I hadn't actually listened to the news that evening. But that was sweet -- and also scary that she heard about it in Vermont! On Saturday I bummed around in the morning, went down to Market Days in the afternoon and saw the Kings perform. Ran into El___, which was a little weird. ( start digression here )

I forgot to mention that last night we saw Cathy Richardson Band and they kicked ass. I totally want to get some of their stuff. Alex has such cool friends.....[by the way, Alex, which album do you recommend I get first??]

(no subject)

Spoke to Melanie a few hours ago, but for some reason I'm feeling all giddy right now, belatedly. I've been missing her more the past few days, but not in a depressive anxiety way. In more of a pleasant sappy way. If that makes sense. Like yesterday I got a sandwich at Jimmy John's, and I was feeling all nostalgic, and then the radio started playing a song by Poe, who she likes a lot. I was tripping. I also realized today that I have not eaten sushi since she left, which is sort of weird for me since at one point I was eating 2-4 times a month. So now I feel compelled to intentionally not eat it until her return. So I'll be sushi-monogamous with her. I told her this -- and made some comment about how I'll eat it with other people when she's in town, but won't at all when's she's out of town. And she said, "oh so it's the OPPOSITE of the arrangement we have now." Oh you. She's so clever and funny.

Less than 3 weeks. Wow. Time goes so fast.

In other happy news, I was finally approved for my vacation time, which means I will be out of the office between 8/31 and 9/10. I went ahead and just took the Monday off, even though we're planning on flying back on Sunday, I need a post-vacation vacation day. Now I just need to find money for a plane ticket......
