Preface: My employer has the greek letter "lambda" in the title, and we often get solicitors who call about "Lambada".
I'm glad you enjoy the CD and I'm quite pleased I was able to get a good handle on your taste! To answer your questions:
1. The track is by The Spinanes, a local Chicago band that put out a couple albums and split. Their album Arches & Aisles is amazing, and when I play is at my house, I can often re-enact the scene from High Fidelity when John Cusack sells the Beta Band album to several customers in the school. Anyway, the lead singer is named Rebecca Gates and she recently put out a solo album I like too.
2. "Just a Little Lovin" by Dusty Springfield. You NEED the album Dusty in Memphis. I promise you'll like it. I'll pay you back if you don't.
(I love your mix, by the way and listened to it several times at work! I'm sorry I forgot it on my trip....)
Ahhh ... I can't believe I didn't recognize Dusty. I bought Dusty in Memphis years ago and, of course, love it. However it's literally been years since I listened to it ... high time I got back to it.
