For those who are curious...
Jul. 16th, 2003 02:59 pmI did a google search and found a couple interesting things, including a message board discussing the consumption of the "ghetto fries" from Max's.
Someone wrote:
The ghetto fries are fries with Merkts cheese sauce, Max's BBQ sauce, some oregano and onions. I got it without the onions as I am not a fan.
It took a bit to get as they were cooking up a batch of fries. I was heartened by this show of freshness but alas the fries even though just cooked had a almost rubbery quality to them. I suspect they may have been fully cooked previously and merely dipped in to heat them up. Not much cheese and the sauce was very sweet. I would not order this again.
Then someone replied:
Thanks for the demystification of "ghetto fries"
Just what is it about these fries that makes them "ghetto" anyway. Is it the bbq sauce and onion that gives them their "ghettoey goodness" somehow I just don't ghet it.

I think my journal's done with this topic of conversation. We now resume our normal televised schedule.

1. Corner Bakery at Madison/Wabash
2. Monday's on Jackson
3. Ooooh, or that rib place on Wabash just south of Jackson...what's it called?
4. Another place of your choosing.

Date: 2003-07-17 09:02 am (UTC)Why don't we go there? They have everything. The "fast food" side has mexican, pizza, and the general hot dog stand foods. Pretty much every unhealthy option you can think of, they have. So our bases will be covered.
