So the vote is for the 9:15 pm show of Mean Girls at City North 14 (Western Ave, just south of Diversey, near the Target shopping center, in case you don't know.)

I will be arriving at the theater between 8:45 and 9. Because there are so many people possibly going, no waiting will occur, just look for each other in line or in the lobby or in the theater.

Questions or problems? Send me a text message, especially if it's after 5 pm.

You are now officially part of the Tuesday Night Movie Club. Well, maybe it will be official when you attend one. But you are officially invited. In theory it's every Tuesday, but I'm guess the reality will be once or twice a month.

Last night I went to a film noir movie club night. I loved it. We should start a writing group. Or a book group. No wait! I want to start a magazine article discussion group. Seriously. I'm getting all obsessed with magazines like new yorker and harper's and atlantic monthly and I want to talk about what I'm reading. So let's start a group where we exchange articles and discuss them the next month.

let's find a time to meet, plan a time that's convenient to us both, then maybe invite some other folks as well. but i don't want to try and plan it around too many people -- it gets messy. let's just be narcissistic and prioritize ourselves. and you have the crazy job schedule right now, so what nights/days work for you?

also, i'd love to read some of your writing, if you're interested in doing a critique swap or whatever.

wow. see, you are on it. i knew you could make things happen. okay. the BEST evening would be tuesday. but i could also swing an 8pm thing on mondays or wednesdays. or i could swing something on a sunday, but people tend to bail out on plans made for sunday. any of those work?

it's all about momentum. if i hadn't responded to this comment RIGHT away and made plans, i would forget about it until three months from now.

tuesday would work. maybe we could hook up in the early evening for our discussion group, and then depending on the week, go to Tuesday Night Movie Club. how does next Tuesday work? or is that too soon to find articles? what magazines do you like or already get? i'm trying to find people to swap with rather than having to subscribe to everything. i'm coveting smithsonian and the economist.

omg, i'm so hyper about this right now. too much caffeine. please excuse my thousand questions.

that's a good idea. i love the economist but i don't have a subscription right now cuz it's so expensive but there's always ebay for that. i'm so glad you mentioned it. people make fun of me if they ever see an economist lying around. economist articles are the only thing my brother and i can discuss together. the new yorker is driving me crazy cuz it's too fricken much but if i focus on certain articles it would help me. i don't really subscribe to anything else that interesting but i'm open to most everything.

yeah, the new yorker is a little insane -- i'm still only halfway through the issue from two or three weeks ago. i just read the dorothea tanning article, so whichever one that is, the one BEFORE the iraqi prisoner photos. so having a reading buddy might be helpful for that. maybe we could also talk about the fiction, because i think some of it sucks but i don't have anyone to talk about it with. i used to read the Economist a couple years ago when someone in the office had a subscription, and now i want to get back into it. i wish we could split one and have every other week sent to our houses. i wish the same of the New Yorker too. every week is TOO much.

okay, how about next week we'll get together and just talk generally about what we've read and ideas and interest and whatnot? since we haven't hung out in awhile. than the next time we meet officially for the discussion group, and we can invite others if we want. miss rook (aka deirdra) is a big Economist fan too.

what time works for you on tuesday?
