My previous post about oatmeal was popular. I would say "who knew?" except that's always how it is -- long introspective entries get no response, short ones instigate nothing short of ten. (I'm guilty of this too.) So anyway, a follow-up to steel cut oatmeal.
Yesterday I wasn't so keen on my breakfast, but then again, I made the mistake of doctoring it too dramatically by adding a tablespoon of flax seed and then honey. I forgot that I maybe don't like honey. And the flax seed soaked up all the moisture and caused it to end up burning and sticking to the pot. I ate it anyway.
Today I kept it simple. Halfway through I added a pat of butter, couple tablespoons of skim milk, a tablespoon of maple syrup, and a few shakes of salt. It tasted ok. But then I topped it off with raspberries and it was aMAzing. I tend to lean towards savory breakfasts, but not always, and if the right fruit is involved, I like sweet&salty together in the morning. My other hot breakfast cereal is some 814327 grain mix that I make and at the end add big dollops of peanut butter and strawberry jam (or apple sauce) and mix it up and it's like hot PBJ in a bowl. Ok, that sounds gross. But it's good.
In Other NewsTM, it has been confirmed that while I would have no-strings-attached sex with a guy who voted for Bush, I will not have it with a guy who's fatphobic. This is all concluded on thought experiments and past history, no current practices, as right now I'm primarily enjoying a chaste relationship with my new bedding.

Date: 2006-12-08 04:52 pm (UTC)I may or may not be able to have that conversation with you, as I tend to get defensive and hurt very easily about the topic of "bad" sexual choices, because of past history as well as the constant judgment that is instilled in most everyone about said topic, even when they are not maybe meaning to. In other words, I haven't figured it out enough in my own head and heart to converse in a way that I feel would be productive to myself.
