Here are my old glasses:

New glasses, which are extremely similar to my old glasses, except the arms are metal:

New prescription sunglasses, just picked up an hour ago:

(I didn't realize until after I uploaded how purple the tint seems in this picture. They are actually more blue. Also hilarious to me is my unconscious ability to make the exact same lopsided half-grin at all times.)
Sadly, it is a cloudy day in Chicago. I of course drove home in them anyway, to help with "glare". I intentionally got the tint fairly light, since I'm used to not wearing sunglasses, my eyes will appreciate any darkening, but also when I'm going in and out of places, I won't be as blind indoors so I don't have to constantly switch out. Don't worry, this doesn't mean I'll be wearing my prescription sunglasses to work. Although, those fluorescent lights can be rather harsh....

Date: 2007-10-12 09:04 pm (UTC)I'm on her insurance plan, because she's a county worker, and we get a discount on eyeglasses. And luckily the aviator frames are pretty cheap anyway. The total ended up being $105. Of course I'm nervous about spending so much money on sunglasses, since I tend to lose/break them, but I realized those things happen because I would take them off . I won't really be taking these off as much, since I would then be blind! Now I just need to make sure I'm in the habit of carrying my regular ones in a case in my bag.
